Background

As you may have gathered, at the start of 1998 there was a change of policy in the Sabrina headquarters. The Animal Makers designers were unceremoniously sacked, and a new company (Chiodo Brothers) were hired instead. Opinion has been split, with some thinking the new cat is better and some thinking it is worse.

Latest News

A new contender has joined the race!!! Someone voted for the real cat actors, so I have added a new category! Does that change your view?

Vote Breakdown

Twenty people prefer the original, against Fifteen who have supported the new design team. One person actually voted in favor of the cat actors, which I thought was a novel idea. Ironically, I would have to actually agree! I have therefore added a category to the voting options.

More information

The background page has pictures and info from people of the show (namely, Jim Boulden, Nick Bakay, Paula Hart and Edward Chiodo).

If you have the episodes on tape, compare the new cat in any episode from "The Band Show" onwards to the original cat in any of the episodes before it. But you probably want to get right to the juicy stuff - read other people's comments!

You can get more information about Salem in general at Ian Hickson's Salem Site. There is also lots and lots of stuff about Sabrina the Teenage Witch at Donald Lancon's Sabrina Site.

NOTE - I personally haven't seen the new Salem, and I don't have an opinion for or against the change. Once we eventually do get to see season 2 episodes in the UK, I will be able to voice an opinion, but until then I'm staying neutral! Your comments may be edited for length or accuracy. You will be informed if this occurs.
